Name: Severus Snape Age: 38 Rank: Death Eater, and Order each side thinks he's working for they're side but his alliance is with the Order Present Occupation: Headmaster at Hogwarts Past Occupations: Potion Teacher at Hogwarts, Defense Against Dark Arts Teacher at Hogwarts, Head of Slytherin House Blood: Half Blood Description: Snape has very long and greasy black hair. As a child it hung in his eyes all the time though now as an adult its pushed off to the sides. His nose is very long and takes the shape of a hook. He eyes are a very very dark brown almost considered blackish. His skin is very pale. He also sports the Dark Mark on his left fore arm, but doesn't allow it to be visible. Personality: Snape is generally depicted as thoroughly cruel, unpleasant, sarcastic, and bitter. As Head of Slytherin house, he is an icon for his own students. The other houses strongly dislike him. Though usually calm and collected, his temper is sometimes short where Harry Potter and his friends are concerned. Snape displays a particularly strong dislike of Harry and often insults him by insulting the memory of his father, James Potter. As the series progresses, it is revealed that his treatment of Harry stems from Snape's bitter rivalry with James when they were in school together. In particular, James and Sirius Black both of whom gave Snape the demeaning nickname Snivellus bullied Snape. Snape also perceives Harry as arrogant and a rule-breaker "like his father", and a mediocre wizard, further fuelling his dislike. Dumbledore suggests Snape is "seeing what he expects to see". Harry's generally mediocre performance in Snape's classes seems to be the result of observer effect, as the former tends to do better when Snape is not making him nervous. Snape's temper flares when dealing with his erstwhile tormentor Sirius. Snape trades frequent snide remarks and insults with Sirius. Snape invariably replies angrily when accused of cowardice. Otherwise, he is collected and in control, rarely at a loss for words or taken off guard. Background Story: As a child, Snape didn't talk much about his home life and stayed at Hogwarts during Christmas break, this is said to be because of his abusive father. His mother was a witch, Eileen Prince and his father a muggle, Tobias Snape. He met Lily Evans before attending Hogwarts and they became very good friends, though when they went to hogwarts they were sorted into different houses, him Slytherin and her Gryffindor. Their friendship was almost classified as a secret one. Though they're friendship didn't last. While being taunted and bullied by James Potter and Sirius Black throughout his years at Hogwarts, Lily tried to get them to stop and as a mistake he called her a mudblood. Something he regretted and tried to apologize for. He never spoke to her again before she died, and though no one but Dumbledore knows it he was in love with her and hate James because he married her. He became mixed up with a group of Slytherins that were very much into the Dark arts, (Malfoy, the Lestranges) and he started to become more like them. He was always good at potions and curses, knowing a lot about them before he entered Hogwarts. He has numerous skills including Potions (i.e.: Wolfsbane and Veritaserum), curses, Occlumens, Legilimens and can fly without a broom. Feeling it his fault that Lily and James died he vows to protect Harry's life and becomes a spy for the order unaware to Voldemort. Roleplay Example:
It was Severus' turn to patrol the corridors of Hogwarts and he wasn't looking forward to it. While he was a teacher at Hogwarts and therefore he was suppose to look out for the children, he rarely did and nor did he care if they wound up in trouble. Though he was a bit favourable to his house, but who wasn't right?
He walked down the corridor, his robes billowing behind him as he walked, though some would see it as a cape. His steps were a silent as he could make them, he didn't wan't any students to hear him coming. Severus turned a corner and headed down the corridor leading to the Gryffindor common room, figuring Potter and his friends would be out and about. But a las there was no one to be found, well theres always another night he thought to himself though a happy thought no one could tell by his face.
